Ambassador Samukawa held a decoration ceremony for Mr. Dereck Mmanga, a Malawian citizen, on 25th January, 2011 on behalf of the Government of Japan to honour him with a decoration called “The Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Rays”. The decoration is bestowed upon individuals who have distinguished themselves by exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of services and achievements. Mr. Mmanga served JICA and the Embassy of Japan in Malawi for over 20 years.
