Send-off Reception for New Japanese Scholarship Recipients and ABE Initiative Trainees

  On August 19, 2017, the Embassy of Japan hosted a reception to send off 12 students of the 2017 Japanese Government Scholarships (8 for Teachers Training Scholarship, 4 for Researcher Scholarship) and 8 participants of African Business Education (ABE) Initiative. In her speech, Ambassador Yanagisawa wished that students would overcome any challenges faced during their student life in Japan, because all the struggles would help them to have wider perspectives. She also hoped that each and every one of members would bring changes to Malawi's soceity after completing thier studies in Japan. Moreover, she touched upon Japan's longtime contribution to Malawi's education sector that is the basis of the nation building.

  The reception was graced by the Guest of Honour, Honourable Bright Msaka, Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Ichiro Aisawa, Member of the House of Representatives of Japan, Mr. Greneger Banda, Ambassador of Malawi to Japan, Malawian government officials, alumni of Japanese Government Scholarships and JICA long-term trainees.
