On March 9, 2017, the Embassy of Japan in Malawi hosted a Farewell Reception for Mr. Kazuhiko Tokuhashi, Chief Representative of JICA Office in Malawi and Mr. Hisashi Nakatomi, Deputy Ambassador of Japan to Malawi. Mr. Tokuhashi served in Malawi for 3 years, playing a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer (JOCV) Program, and many projects in the various sectors including health, education, transport, agriculture, and mining sectors. Mr. Nakatomi served in Malawi for 2 years and 10 months, and he will retire at the end of the month after serving a distinguished diplomatic career spanning 37 years. We will miss his services and contributions to the success of the Embassy and to the Japan-Malawi relations. The reception was graced by the Guest of Honour, Honourable Peter Kumpalume, Minister of Health as well as other Cabinet Ministers and Distinguished guests.
